the smell of sea water
taunts with sarcasm
drink me

im sorry i couldnt be there for you
but while you were trying to to get your daughter
to drink her urine
a singer died
while your children
were falling from the tree of life
scattered bushels of rotten fruit
some whiter children were shot

oh somalia
only if your beautiful wasnt so black
only if you were
gaza or
libya or
bahrain or
egypt or
norway or
england or
japan or
america
or the moon
i would mention you in a poem

only if you had
oil or
poppy or
timber or
rubber or
white people
i would mention you in my prayers



oh somalia
only if your beautiful wasnt so black
the world has grown accustom to watching you die
since i was a child
somalia - synonymous with suffering
african meant adversity
an african struggling was like
a fish swimming
a dog barking
somalia meant starvation

nevermind the magic in your poetry
or
the glowing saints rising from your lands like a thousand moons

nevermind the beauty of your beaches
or
the utter perfection in the hips of your women

oh somalia
only if you didnt wear the resemblance of eve
like an ornate funeral shroud
we wouldnt see you as our sin
and avert our gazes
in shame
turn our faces
to blame
only if your lack of the worldy
didnt remind us
of our lack of the other-worldly
perhaps then we would mention you

Hey ladyloves,

So I got the same plain top in 3 colours...really loved the fact that it wasn't fitted. I'm not into tight fitted tops especially because I wear Jeans, so I always get loose, long tops and Alhamdulilah they seem to be everywhere, some are dresses which I convert into tops lololol...A girls gotta do what shes gotta do in the cause modesty, am I right or am I right...lol PLUS I'm really a handbag, heels, and hijab STATEMENT type of girl...the top JUST has to be the right colour, right fit and look really effortless...and I got it from there on mashaAllah...so I haven't worn the coral version yet BUT I did do turquoise and a dusty brown...okay I'm rambling...HERE...WE...GO..

A Beautiful Hadith 

Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihe wasallam) said: 'When a man dies and his relatives are busy in funeral, there stands an extremely handsome man by his head. When the dead body is shrouded, that man gets in between the shroud and the chest of the deceased.

When after the burial, the people return home, 2 angels, Munkar and Nakeer(names of two special Angels), come in the grave and try to separate this handsome man so that they may be able to inter rogate the dead man in privacy about his faith. But the handsome man says, 'He is my companion, he is my friend. I will not  leave him alone in any case. If you are appointed for interrogation, do your job. I cannot leave him until I get him admitted into Paradise '.

Thereafter he turns to his dead companion and says, 'I am the Qur'an, which you used to read, sometimes in a loud voice and sometimes in a low voice. Do not worry. After the interrogation of Munkar and Naker, you will have no grief.'

When the interrogation is over, the handsome man arranges for him from Al-Mala'ul A'laa (the angels in Heaven) silk bedding filled with musk..

Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihe wasallam) said: 'On the Day of Judgement, before Allah, no other Intercessor will have a greater status than the Qur'an, neither a Prophet nor an angel.'

Please keep forwarding this 'Hadith' to all ....because

Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihe wasallam) said:

'Pass on knowledge from me even if it is only one verse'.

May Allah bestow this favour on all of us.

I LOVE Abaya's

Salaams my doves, Oh how I love abaya's...BUT they must be the right type of abayas, must have something that I believe favours my sense of style..Can't wait to experiment during ramadhan. It's always safe to have a nice Abaya just lying around...
